Why Pet Care?

  • Half of all UK households own a pet
  • Busy pet owners are driving a thriving pet care market
  • There is excellent earning potential in doing what you enjoy
  • Flexible hours can easily worked around other committments

But don’t just listen to us, hear what the experts say...

According to the Pet Food Manufacturers Association (PFMA), “Just under half the households in the UK own a pet, ranging from dogs, cats and rabbits to the more exotic snakes and spiders”……….. So we know the volume is there...

The PFMA also inform us that “80% of dog owners and 65% of cat owners have had a pet for over 10 years”, so we know that the retention is there, especially for dog walkers who meet their client on an initial meeting and then the service tends to run on for years.

Pets are being treated better than ever..............Mintel comments that with our tendency to humanise pets and the way that we treat them as another child or member of our family’s having a major impact of what and how much consumers are preparing to spend on their pets.  Responding to the report, the Pet Care Trust (PCT) says that Britain may have fewer pets than before, but we are taking better care of them than ever before………so the money is there...

Did you know as well, that pets are actually good for you?  According to the PCT “pets act as therapy by providing the ‘feel good factor’ which is vital to the maintenance of mental health, for people in different countries with different lifestyles and conditions”…..so we know it could enhance your well being and lifestyle!

David Bellamy also comments that pets can help your children too “ a pet instils a sense of understanding and responsibility in children.  Thorough this they are more likely top develop a wider understanding of the natural world as well as the desire to conserve it” …….your family can be involved

Brendon Humphreys, MD of Pet Pals comments “ Our repeat customers have grown by 30% each year and our regular dog walking customers can spend between 2000, and 3000 per year on one dog. For our cat and small pet customers that figure is around 900 to 1500 per year” ……………so we know the clients are here!
